The purpose of the Production Assistant Certification is to develop qualified individuals who can work on Utah film, TV and commercial sets.

To achieve the Production Assistant Certification, participants must complete all 5 steps of the program:

  1. Click here to register with the Utah Film Commission.
  2. Enroll in the online PA Course and allow 24 hours to be approved by UFC. Complete the lectures and pass the prerequisite online quiz.
  3. Complete a Utah Film Commission approved Production Assistant On Set Workshop. This portion is paid and must be completed through Avrec Art House or UVU’s Digital Media 2110 (Motion Pictures Essentials) taught by Duane Andersen (
  4. Pass online final exam.
  5. Interview with the Utah Film Commission and receive certification.

Cost: $100  // $75 for Avrec Members (Members: contact Avrec directly to register)
